Andrew McCutchen signs bust sculpted by 8th-grade Franklin Regional student
The Pirates Andrew McCutchen, signs a sculpture created by Franklin Regional eighth-grader Liam Bernadowski (right) on Aug. 1, 2023, at the team’s batting practice.
When Franklin Regional eighth-grader Liam Bernadowsi was sculpting a bust of the Pirates Andrew McCutchen, he didn’t think it would lead to a chance to meet the MLB ballplayer.
But after Franklin Regional Middle School teacher Bruce Palmiscno sent a photo of the sculpture to the Pirates, they extended an invitation for Bernadowski, his older brother Max and Palmiscno to attend the Aug. 1 batting practice. They met with McCutchen, who signed the sculpture.
