After spending a summer next door in Salem Township, the Delmont Farmer’s Market is coming back to the borough in 2019.

Vendor Amanda Bank told borough council members she and market patron Alice Heasley plan to organize the market in its original location, the Rose Wigfield Parklet on Greensburg Street.

The 2018 market was hosted by the nearby Fairview Park Association, after Delmont Mayor Alyce Urban said she would not be able to coordinate all of the issues related to running the event without additional volunteers.

“I have been a vendor there the past two years,” said Bank, a LuLaRoe retailer who sells clothing for women and children. “The organizer from last year moved, and was no longer able to be the coordinator.”

Bank and Heasley decided it was a task they could manage.

“There is a one-time $25 registration fee that we’ll use for advertising — no other fees will apply,” Bank said. “We’re hoping to get some of the original vendors back from the days it was in the parklet.”

A Facebook page for the market has been created, and Bank said a registration form for vendors will be uploaded in the near future.

The market will open June 1 and run on Saturdays through Sept. 7, with the exception of July 6 and Aug. 31.

Vendors must provide proof of insurance.
