Here’s a few upcoming events in the Star’s coverage area:
Franklin Regional band will host fruit sale
The Franklin Regional Senior High School band will host its annual fruit sale now through Oct. 30, with online orders continuing through Nov. 4.
Place an order through any band or band-front member or by using the fruit sale link at FRBand.com. Fruit will be delivered Dec. 5.
Proceeds will benefit band trips, equipment purchases and props.
Basket raffle to benefit kidney transplant patient
Export Floral will hold a basket raffle to benefit a former employee, Stacey McKay Campbell, who is in need of a second kidney transplant.
The basket is worth more than $275, and the winning ticket will be drawn Oct. 31.
Tickets can be purchased at the store, 5894 Washington Ave., in Export, for $5 each, three for $10, or ten for $20.

Delmont VFD hosting hoagie sale
The Delmont Volunteer Fire Department will host a hoagie sale on Oct. 31.
Hoagies are $7 each, and all proceeds will benefit the fire department.
Pre-orders will be accepted through Oct. 26, and will be available for pickup at 10 a.m. Place a pre-order by calling 724-689-5591.
The fire hall is at 2360 Route 66 in Delmont.
Upcoming public meetings
The following public meetings will take place in the Star’s coverage area in the coming weeks:
• Export council, 6:30 p.m., Nov. 3 at the borough building, 5823 Washington Avenue.
• Murrysville council, 7 p.m., Nov. 4 at the municipal building, 4100 Sardis Road. Meetings are also streamed online via Murrysville.com and broadcast on Comcast local access Channel 19.
• Franklin Regional school board, 7:30 p.m., Nov. 9. Meetings are streamed online at YouTube.com/user/FranklinRegionalSD.
• Delmont council, 7 p.m., Nov. 10 at the borough building, 77 Greensburg Street.
• Franklin Township Municipal Sanitary Authority, 6 p.m., Nov. 12 at the authority office, 3001 Meadowbrook Road in Murrysville.
