Panther Foundation moves golf outing

The Franklin Regional Panther Foundation has postponed its annual golf fundraiser.

Final ‘Movies in the Park’ set for Saturday

The Delmont Recreation Board will host its final “Movies in the Park” night of the season on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Newhouse Park just off Stotler Road.

The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with music from Keyboard Kevin. Leena’s Gyros, Kona Ice and Operation Hot Dog will also be on-site to provide food, along with beverages from Yellow Bridge Brewing.

The final film will be “The Sandlot,” which will begin showing at dusk.

Upcoming meeting dates

The following public meetings are scheduled in the Star’s coverage areas:

• Franklin Regional school board committee-of-the-whole meeting (no voting), 7:30 p.m., Oct. 5, streamed online at Youtube.com/user/FranklinRegionalSD.

• Export council, 6:30 p.m., Oct. 6 at the borough building, 5823 Washington Ave.

• Murrysville council, 7pm, Oct. 7 at the municipal building, 4100 Sardis Road, also streamed live on Comcast local access Channel 19 and via Murrysville.com.

• Delmont council, 7 p.m., Oct. 13 at the borough building, 77 Greensburg St.

Glass painting class in Export

The Rewind-Reuse Center and Workshop in Export, which reopened Sept. 9, will host an adult/teen painting-on-glass workshop, 6-8 p.m., Sept. 30 at the center, 5853 Washington Ave.

The cost is $10. Participants will paint two goblets or wine glasses. Additional glasses can be purchased for $2. Donna Karas will be the instructor.

Trick-or-treating

Both Murrysville and Delmont will hold trick-or-treating on Oct. 31. Murrysville’s will be from 5-7 p.m., and Delmont’s will be from 6-8 p.m.

Physical distancing is to be observed, and those who do not wish to participate are asked to leave their porch lights off.

Export officials will discuss trick-or-treating at their Oct. 6 meeting.
