The International Women’s Club of Monroeville introduces Louise Esposito of Murrysville as the club president for 2023-24.
A club member since 1996, Louise was born in New York. Her mother was Italian and her father, Swiss-French. She grew up in the same household as her Italian immigrant grandparents, so she was virtually raised Italian. She loved growing up in New York’s melting pot, and that was one of the reasons she was drawn to International Women.
With degrees in hotel and restaurant management as well as in communications, Louise has worked at a number of Pittsburgh locations, including Busy Day Gourmet, the Carnegie Science Center, Chatham College in the Alumni and Development Office, and most recently at the Frick Art and Historical Center.
For the past 15 years, Louise has served on the Mother of Sorrows Community Food Pantry leadership team as volunteer coordinator and now as its secretary.
International Women was founded in September 1968 by a small group of women from overseas with the assistance of the YMCA. The group meets at the Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Road, Monroeville, and all women are welcome at the monthly meetings.
The next meeting is at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 6, with speaker Andrea Jackson presenting “Chocolate As Medicine” throughout history.
