AMVETS to host blood drive
AMVETS Post 85 in Murrysville’s White Valley neighborhood will host an Oct. 30 blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Appointments are recommended by calling 412-209-7000, but walk-ins will be welcomed.
An appointment can also be scheduled by going to Vitalant.org, clicking the “make an appointment” link and using the group code C3750033.
Theatre Factory to host Halloween play
The Theatre Factory invites those attending this month’s production of “I Want My Mummy” to dress just like the monstrous characters.
The musical, which runs Oct. 23-24 and Oct. 30-31, centers around the Baroness Frankenstein, who opens her castle to the monsters of world that are having trouble fitting in with society.
Tickets are $10 and attendees are invited to wear Halloween costumes and to meet the cast for photos and autographs after the show.
Purchase tickets at OntheStage.tickets by choosing “Theatre Ticketing” under the “Platform” menu, and entering “I Want My Mummy” into the search box at the bottom of the page.
The theater is at 235 Cavitt Ave. in Trafford.
First Presbyterian Church to host fall seasonal sale
First Presbyterian Church in Murrysville will host its annual fall seasonal sale with fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas items on Nov. 6.
It will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Laird Hall at the church, 3202 North Hills Road in Murrysville.
Proceeds will go toward the church’s mission projects.

Spaghetti dinner to benefit FR Band Boosters
A Nov. 13 spaghetti dinner at First United Methodist Church in Murrysville will benefit the Franklin Regional Band Boosters and the Panther Marching Band.
It will be from 3-6:30 p.m. at the church, 3916 Old William Penn Highway in Murrysville.

Delmont library partners with nonprofit to collect clothing
The Delmont Public Library will have a snowflake collection box for donations through Nov. 6, part of its partnership with nonprofit Feeding the Spirit.
Each year, Feeding the Spirit collects hats, gloves and scarves for the homeless and needy. They are pre-packaged in gallon plastic bags and hung throughout Greensburg in places such as Courthouse Square and St. Clair Park.
Hats, gloves and scarves for men, women and children will be accepted. It would be helpful if accessory sets were pre-packaged in a sealable plastic bag. All donations should be new or gently used.

Local ‘Pink Ribbon Bagel’ sales to benefit Windber cancer center
Marking two decades of baking pink bagels during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Panera locations in Murrysville, Greensburg, North Huntingdon, Monroeville, Altoona and Johnstown will donate a portion of their sale proceeds to the Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center in Windber.
The Pink Ribbon Bagel includes cherry-flavored chips, sweetened dried cherries, cherry-flavored cranberries and a vanilla, honey and brown sugar topping.
The Pink Ribbon Bagel benefit runs through Oct. 31.
Delmont announces leaf pickup dates
Leaf pickup for all Delmont residents will take place over the first three Saturdays in November: Nov. 6, 13 and 20.
Bags must be placed within 5 feet of the road edge or curb line.
