Athletic association sets opening day for April 23
The Franklin Regional Athletic Association will host its 2022 opening day April 23 at Murrysville Community Park.
Opening ceremonies will take place at noon in the park, 4056 Wiestertown Road in Murrysville.
Team practices will begin March 28, weather permitting, and team/individual photos will be taken on opening day.

Murrysville Woman’s Club to meet March 17
The Murrysville Woman’s Club will meet at noon, March 17 at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House, 4813 William Penn Highway in Murrysville.
Lunch will be served at noon, followed by assembly of baskets for the club’s spring fundraiser on April 30.

Murrysville to host glass recycling, food collection
Murrysville officials announced 2022 dates for their glass recycling and food-pantry collection events, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at Veterans Field, 4200 Sardis Road.
This year’s dates are March 19, June 11, Sept. 17 and Dec. 10.
Volunteers from Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church’s Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry will be on hand to collect nonperishable food items.
All colors of glass bottles, jars and jugs will be accepted. Unacceptable items include window glass, drinking glasses, dishware, ceramics, mirrors, light bulbs and TVs.
Bible study group begins 6-week course March 21
The Community Bible Study co-ed evening adult class will start a six-week study of the Book of James beginning at 7 p.m., March 21 at Murrysville Alliance Church.
Each week will include small group discussions and large group instruction. There is no cost, but registration is required by going to MurrysvilleEve.CBSclass.org. The deadline to register is March 16.

Rummage sale, egg hunt at Union Presbyterian
Union Presbyterian Church in Washington Township will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 24, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 25. Donations can be dropped off at the church, 656 Route 380. Items other than jewelry, furniture and antiques will not be priced, and will be available for a donation of the customer’s choice. There will be food available to purchase.
The church will also host an April 9 Easter egg hunt, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., also at the church. The event includes story-time for children, a craft and lunch.

Moms in Prayer group meets weekly
The Moms in Prayer group invites women in the community to join them at their weekly meetings, 1:15 p.m. on Thursdays at First Presbyterian Church, 3202 North Hills Road in Murrysville.
