Golf tourney to benefit FR Panther Foundation
The annual golf tournament to benefit the nonprofit Franklin Regional Panther Foundation will take place June 10 at Meadowink Golf Course, 4076 Bulltown Road in Murrysville.
The cost is $175 per player, and players must be over 21. The cost includes greens fees, cart, skill prizes, a six-pack of beverages per cart, lunch and a buffet dinner.
Registration will be at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The day will include dinner, raffles, prizes, two hole-in-one contests and a putting contest.
Space is limited to 144 golfers.

Symphony East hosts 60th anniversary celebration
Symphony East officials will mark the group’s 60th anniversary with a June 14 celebration at the Edgewood Country Club, 100 Churchill Road in Churchill.
It will take place at 11 a.m. and includes a full luncheon along with music by pianist Rick Purcell and a woodwind quintet from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

‘Organize Your Life’ at Murrysville Community Center
The Murrysville Recreation Department will host Jody Adams, certified professional organizer for an “Organize Your Life” program at 6:30 p.m. June 7 at the Murrysville Community Center.
Adams will show how to start the process of decluttering, decision making and downsizing.

Delmont selling limited number of veteran banners
Delmont Borough will once again hang banners purchased to recognize veterans, beginning Memorial Day and remaining in place until Labor Day.
The borough also has a limited number of spaces available for the banners, which are $125 each. Banners take roughly four weeks to be printed and hung, and newly ordered banners will be hung during June.
To purchase a banner, call 724-468-4422 for availability, and send information and payment to the Delmont Borough office, 77 Greensburg St., Delmont., Pa., 15626, including: your name, phone number and address, rank and name of service member, branch of service, dates of service, major campaigns, a photograph of the veteran which will be returned, and a check made payable to the borough. Banners will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Memorial Day events
The White Valley AMVETS will join the Export, Delmont and Murrysville American Legions in hosting a series of events on May 30 to mark Memorial Day. The schedule is as follows:
• 8 a.m., honor roll at the Export American Legion on Kennedy Avenue
• 8:30 a.m., program at the Murrysville Cemetery on North Hills Road
• 9 a.m., program at Hill’s Church Cemetery on Hills Church Road
• 9:30 a.m., program at White Valley Cemetery on Roosevelt Avenue in Export
• 10 a.m., program at Twin Valley Memorial Park on Athena Drive in Delmont
• 10:45 a.m., parade through Export, beginning at St. Mary’s church and heading down Kennedy Avenue to the Export firemen’s social hall.
• 11:30 a.m., program at Grandview Cemetery on Cemetery Road in Murrysville
• 12:15 p.m., honor roll at White Valley AMVETS Post 85, 2100 Carolina St. in Murrysville
Rotary will raffle off ’86 Corvette at Oktoberfest celebration
The Murrysville-Export Rotary Club is selling raffle tickets for a 1986 C-4 Chevrolet Corvette its members will give away at their annual Oktoberfest event.
The winning ticket for the silver Corvette coupe will be drawn Oct. 1. Tickets are $20 or three for $50.
The winner does not need to be present to win, but is responsible for tags and insurance. Proceeds will benefit Rotary community projects.

Yard sale will benefit nonprofit Military Connections
Nonprofit Military Connections will hold its annual yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 4 and 1-4 p.m. June 5 at Living Word of Plum Church, 200 Elicker Road. On June 5 there will be a $5 bag sale.
The sale will feature more than 20 tables of items, with proceeds going to Military Connections’ mission of sending care packages to soldiers stationed overseas.
Donations of gently used goods will be accepted through June 1 by appointment only. Adult clothing and televisions will not be accepted. To schedule an appointment, email militaryconnections@hotmail.com.

Monroeville Christian Church schedules Bible school
Monroeville Christian Church, 3780 Northern Pike, will host vacation Bible school from 6 to 8:15 p.m. June 26 and 7 to 9 p.m. June 27 through 29.
Each night will feature classes for all ages, crafts, recreation and snacks.
