Delmont library plans 2021 events
After finishing 2020 with a new building, Delmont Public Library officials are gearing up for the first events of the new year — two outdoor walks exploring local nature spots.
A “First Day Walk” will take place from 1 to 3 p.m., Jan 1 at the Tomer Reserve, a 17-acre wooded property at the north end of Twin Oaks Lane in Murrysville, owned and managed by the Westmoreland Conservancy.
The library and conservancy will also partner for an “Owl Prowl” from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Jan. 28 at the Morosini Reserve on Morosini Farm Court in Murrysville.
There is no cost for either event, but registration is required by calling 724-468-5329.

Toys for Tots in Murrysville
The east regional office of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Services, 3855 Reed Blvd. in Murrysville, will serve as a drop-off site for the Toys for Tots program through Dec. 14.
Unwrapped toys for children age one to 13 will be accepted during regular business hours. Toys will be donated to children in the greater Pittsburgh area.

3rd annual Scler-Churma benefit held virtually
Local nonprofit Scler-Churma, named in memory of Kody Churma, who died in 2018 of complications from scleroderma, an autoimmune disease that attacks skin tissue and can damage internal organs.
This year’s fundraiser will take the form of three raffles: a 50/50 and raffles for a $200 Visa gift card and a TV with sound bar.
Other ways to donate include directly via the nonprofit’s website, SclerChurma.org, by entering “Scler-Churma” in the Smile.amazon.com search bar and registering it as a favorite organization (Amazon will donate 0.5% of eligible purchases) or by purchasing clothing from KoJo’s Clothes, at KojosClothes.com.
This year’s fundraiser runs through Dec. 1.

Women’s Business Network meetings
The Murrysville chapter of the Women’s Business Network meets regularly on the second and fourth Thursday of the month, 8:30 a.m. at Dick’s Diner, 4200 William Penn Highway, Murrysville. Meetings have been taking place in a hybrid format, with an option to attend online.

Glass recycling Dec. 12 in Murrysville
Murrysville and Republic Services officials will host a “pop-up” glass recycling collection day, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Veterans Field parking lot on Sardis Road.
All colors of glass bottles, jars and jugs will be accepted. Caps, lids and labels are acceptable. All containers must be empty.
Window glass, drinking glasses, dishware, ceramics, mirrors, light bulbs and TVs will not be accepted.
