Rummage sale

Union Presbyterian Church will host a fall rummage sale Sept. 9-10 at the church, 656 Route 380 in Washington Township.

The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 9, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 10. Items other than jewelry, furniture and antiques will not be priced, and will be available for a donation of the customer’s choice.

There will be food available for purchase.

Golf outing to aid Toys for Pittsburgh Tikes

The Greater Pittsburgh Business Connection will host a Sept. 26 golf outing to benefit Toys for Pittsburgh Tikes.

It will take place at the Westmoreland Country Club, 7100 Mellon Road in Penn Township. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Tickets are $150 per person, with sponsorships, foursome and dinner-only tickets also available. Dinner will be at 4:15 p.m. To purchase tickets, or for more information, see GreaterPittsburghBusinessConnection.com.

Lions Club car show set for Aug. 28

Lions Clubs in Delmont and Murrysville will host a car show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Delmont Fire Department.

The cost is $10 to enter a car. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 participants, and there will food, drinks, a basket raffle, 50/50 drawing and entertainment by DJ Larry. No pets are permitted.

The fire department is at 2360 Route 66, however fire officials are asking that residents enter from Abbe Place, as will be no access from Route 66 the day of the show.

• The Murrysville-area Moms in Prayer group will host fall meetings at Murrysville First Presbyterian Church, 3202 North Hills Road in Murrysville. Hall of Fame to induct inaugural class

The inaugural class of the Franklin Regional Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducted during a ceremony at the Sept. 2 home football game at Panther Stadium.

The class includes the 1979 girls basketball team, Jodi Eyles (swimming), Aaron Lovelace (basketball), Nico Megaludis (wrestling), Robert Moose (baseball), Samantha Pickens (diving), Thomas Ricketts (football), Leigh Kincaid Tanquist (track/cross-country), Michael Verona (track/football), and coaches Ed Eyles (multiple sports) and Eric Mausser (wrestling).

Rotary Summer-fest car cruise

The Murrysville-Export Rotary Club will host its annual Summer-fest car cruise from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Lamplighter.

There is a $10 entry fee, and the first 150 entries will receive a dash plaque. The afternoon will include food, a DJ, refreshments, auction baskets, a 50/50 drawing and raffle ticket sales to win a 1986 Chevrolet Corvette. The winning ticket will be drawn at the Rotary’s Oct. 1 Oktoberfest event.

Cars in all categories are welcome to enter the show.
