Johnstown Police officers show respect by wearing the “thin blue line” on their badges outside the funeral service of Trooper Michael P. Stewart in Latrobe on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.

Members of law enforcement and their families are invited to Murrysville Alliance Church’s annual “Strengthening the Thin Blue Line” service, set for May 19.

The 11 a.m. service will serve as a tribute to law enforcement personnel who have lost their lives in the course of their police work.

The church is at 4120 Old William Penn Highway in Murrysville. For more, call 724-327-7206 or see MurrysvilleAllianceChurch.org.

Below, Murrysville Police Chief Tom Seefeld discusses its importance during a previous service.
