A Murrysville woman was among those honored at a recent state dinner with Gov. Tom Wolf.
Mary Bach, a nationally recognized consumer advocate, was one of 30 people recognized for their efforts and achievements in Pennsylvania. Bach has more than four decades of independent consumer advocacy, civic activism and volunteer work, including her current position as chair of the AARP’s Consumer Issues Task Force.
“I’m thrilled to have been included in this group of gifted and accomplished Pennsylvanians,” Bach said. “It’s such an honor to be recognized for doing things that I truly enjoy, helping people to know their rights and trying to prevent victimization through education and sharing important, worthwhile information.”
Other honorees included a Philadelphia physician awarded $3 million for breakthrough Alzheimer’s research and 2018-19 Monsanto Fund National Rural Teacher of the Year Wade Owlett of Wellsboro.
The state dinner took place at the Governor’s Mansion in Harrisburg.
