The American Association of University Women’s Murrysville chapter will host Italian singer Marco Fiorante at its Dec. 12 meeting for a special holiday program.

Born in Cellino San Marco in Italy’s Puglia region, Fiorante completed his musical study in “canto lirico” (“opera performance”) at the Conservatorio Tito Schipa in Lecce, Italy. He has performed at several national events in his home country, he has sung the Italian national anthem at a 2012 U.S. Justice Department ceremony honoring FBI founder Charles Joseph Bonaparte and at the recent National Italian American Foundation’s gala dinner in Washington, D.C.

Fiorante’s second album, “Love” was released in 2016. He has a strong connection to the Pittsburgh area, having married a Pittsburgh resident as well as having started an Italian school in 2018 in Beaver, offering language lessons for adults and children. Fiorante also organizes customized tours to Italy.

The association’s business meeting will take place at 9:30 a.m., followed by Fiorante’s Italian Christmas program at 10 a.m., at the community room of the Murrysville Community Library, 4130 Sardis Road in Murrysville.

The public is invited to attend, and there is no registration required.
