Murrysville: Rotary car cruise, steak fry, flag football, more

Upcoming Rotary events
• The Murrysville-Export Rotary Club will host its annual Summer-fest car cruise from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Lamplighter.
There is a $10 entry cost for those taking part in the show, and the first 150 entries will receive a dash plaque. The afternoon will include food, a DJ, refreshments, auction baskets, a 50/50 drawing and raffle ticket sales to win a 1986 Chevrolet Corvette. The winning ticket will be drawn at the Rotary’s Oct. 1 Oktoberfest event.
Cars in all categories are welcome to enter the show.

• The Delmont-Salem Rotary Club will host a steak fry from 4-7 p.m. July 17 at Newhouse Park in Delmont.
The cost is $25, and the evening also includes live entertainment by Gary Pratt. Tickets are available from any Rotarian or by calling Sally Salo at 724-468-0373.
The park is off Stotler Road in Delmont.
Comedy fundraiser
The seventh annual “Comedy for a Cause” to benefit the Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania will take place at 7 p.m. July 16 at Elements Venue, 3000 Commerce Loop in North Huntingdon, featuring comedians Tom Anzalone and David Kaye.

Sewing supply sale in Hempfield
A sale of sewing supplies will take place from 4-8 p.m. July 22, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 23, at First Baptist Church of Greensburg at 1228 Brinkerton Road, Hempfield.
Thousands of yards of fabric will be available at $5 per yard, along with notions, sewing-themed decorations and personal items.
Flag football registration opens
The Sampson Family YMCA will host free flag football clinics in August, with the season starting on Sept. 8.
Age divisions are 6-9, 10-12 and 13-15 years old. League registration includes an NFL Flag Team shirt and flag belt. Separate registration is required for clinics and leagues.
Two free clinics will take place Aug. 13 and 20, with separate sessions for each age group.
The cost to register for the season is $95 for Sampson YMCA members and $145 for community members.
