Purse bash at White Valley AMVETS

The White Valley AMVETS will hold its third annual Designer Purse Bash on Oct. 4 at White Valley Park.

The gates will open at noon and drawings begin at 1 p.m. Tickets are $30 and include four drawing numbers, door prizes, food and drinks. There will be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and other games. Proceeds will benefit the remodeling of the AMVETS kitchen.

Tickets can be purchased by calling AMVETS at 724-327-9919, Arlene at 412-554-2194 or Tina at 412-418-5708. Only a limited number of tickets will be available at the gate.

Trump rally, cornhole event set for Saturday

Officials from Westmoreland County Republican Committee District 6 will host a “Republican Neighborhood Cornhole (RNC)” event and Trump rally Saturday in the Kepple Pavilion at Newhouse Park, 261 Newhouse Park Road, Delmont.

Registration for the single- elimination cornhole tournament begins at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $25 per team.

Speals on Wheels food truck will be on-site along with several local breweries. State Sen. Kim Ward, State Rep. Eric Nelson and Westmoreland County commissioners Sean Kertes and Doug Chew will speak beginning at 12:30 p.m., with the tournament at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

‘Get Out the Vote’ event set Oct. 3

The Republican committees of Allegheny and Westmoreland counties will host a “GOP Get Out the Vote” event at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 8 at Northmoreland Park in Washington Township.

Guest speakers include Allegheny GOP Chair Sam DeMarco and Westmoreland GOP Chair Bill Bretz, several Republican candidates for local and national office and others. There is no cost to attend. It will be held at Pavilion 12 in the park, 280 Markle Road.

Women’s Business Network meetings

The Murrysville chapter of the Women’s Business Network meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. Meetings are being held virtually at present, and October meetings will be held Oct. 8 and 22. ‘Ladies Day Out’ at Export Moose

The Export Moose will host a “Ladies Day Out” featuring craft tables, vendors, food and live music by Nathan Shaffer.

It will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Moose parking lot, 5906 Washington Avenue in Export.
