McCandless construction
Work is underway on the Blazier Drive culvert. The project entails new concrete lining and rehabilitation of the three culverts that run under the road. This work will be done completely under the road and will not disturb the actual road surface itself. Blazier Drive will remain open throughout the work, however there will be periodic delays when materials are being delivered to the site or debris is being removed. Contractors will work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. most days. Construction is expected to last 120 days.
McCandless dumpsters removed
Due to ongoing issues, the cardboard recycling dumpsters behind Town Hall have been removed temporarily to consider future options. Some of the issues surrounding the dumpsters include people overfilling the dumpsters, leaving cardboard around the dumpsters (which requires a considerable amount of time to clean up for Department of Public Works employees), and not breaking down the cardboard boxes (leading to the dumpsters to become prematurely filled).
Residents who need to dispose of more cardboard than will fit in a home recycling cart can order an additional recycling cart by contacting Waste Management at 1-800-866-4460 (for further assistance, contact Town Hall at 412-364-0616).
