A free program on how to combat the spread of Lyme disease from deer tick bites will be held 6:30 p.m. Aug. 21 at McCandless Town Hall.

Presented by the PA Lyme Resource Network, “Dare 2B Tick Aware” will cover subjects including:

• Ticks and tick-borne diseases

• Preventing tick bites

• Responding to tick bites

• Recognizing early symptoms

• When to seek help

Deer ticks are responsible for the spread of Lyme disease, a bacterial infection that is transmitted to humans through bites.

The event is being hosted by the town’s Environmental Advisory Committee.

Town Hall is located at 9955 Grubbs Road.
