North Allegheny high school seniors who are registered Democrats — or are the child of a Democrat — can apply for a $1,000 scholarship from the McCandless Democratic Committee.

No financial disclosure is required to apply for the annual award, but students planning to attend college in the fall must have a QPA of 3.0 or higher and volunteer in community and school activities.

The deadline to apply is April 24. The application also is available in the guidance office at North Allegheny Senior High School.
