Event for kids at Block Northway features emergency vehicles, fun activities

Giggles Balloon Twist Pittsburgh will be making fun, creative balloon art at a free event at The Block Northway on Friday, June 21, 2019.

Kids can feed their fascination for fire trucks, cop cars and other public safety vehicles at a free event from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday at The Block Northway in Ross.

Other activities include:

• 3-4:30 p.m. — WSHH radio’s Street Treat Patrol

• 3-7 p.m. — Giggles Balloon Twist Pittsburgh; Face Paint Pittsburgh

• 4-6 p.m. — Carnegie Science Center’s Make and Take Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream

There also will be drawings to win tickets to more than a dozen local attractions including Kennywood, Laser Storm and Go Ape North Park.

The Kids Safety event coincides with The Block’s weekly farmers market, which features locally produced fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, fine spirits, flowers, coffee and honey. The I Made It Market offers a wide variety of unique, hand-crafted gifts.

The activities are held in the upper level of the shopping center’s south atrium.
