The Pittsburgh-based theatrical music ensemble Squonk Opera, pictured here during a performance at the 2015 Arts on the Allegheny in Kittanning, served as the inspiration for an art show by North Allegheny students opening on May 8, 2019.

Student created art inspired by the Pittsburgh-based Squonk Opera performance group will be on display at an exhibit opening at North Allegheny Senior High School.

The free May 8 art show will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The student designed integrated art installation was influenced by art teachers Fran Hawbaker and Bob Tozier and pays homage to the popular Squonk Opera touring troupe, which received its first major commission in 1995 to create “Night of The Living Dead: The Opera.”
