This photo shows the sleigh the Biddle Brothers used during their daring escape from the Allegheny County Jail in 1902. Their story and other notorious crimes and strange happenings in the North Hills will be the topic of a program at North Park’s Rose Barn on Oct. 17, 2019.

Ever hear about the Biddle Boys’ run through Perrysville after their daring 1902 escape from the Allegheny County Jail?

How about the odd rampage of “Toots the Bear” or the mystery surrounding Blue Mist Road in North Park?

North Hills residents interested in learning more about the infamous crimes and odd happenings that have occurred in the past are invited to a program at North Park’s Rose Barn at 7 p.m. on Oct. 17.

“The Notorious North Hills” also will serve as a fundraiser for the McCandless/Northern Allegheny Heritage Center.

The 21-and-older event costs $25 per person and include light refreshments and two adult beverages.

Reserved tickets can be purchased with cash or check weekdays at McCandless Town Hall, 9955 Grubbs Road.

No tickets will be sold at the door.
