The Chadwick wedding venue has been sold
The Chadwick, a wedding and event venue in the North Hills, has been sold.
An email from the venue in McCandless confirmed the news.
“The Chadwick property has been sold to the Jim Shorkey Family Auto Group,” Chadwick spokesperson Ralph Sansale said via email. “The Chadwick will remain in operation thru Dec 31, 2024.”
The Chadwick operators, along with the Jim Shorkey Family Auto Group, have partnered with Common Plea Catering to assist with a smooth transition, Sansale said.
The event space was founded in 1982. It offers more than 10,000 square feet of conference and gathering space, according to its website. It can accommodate from 20 to 600 guests.
The Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet on May 12 is still happening.
All 2024 booked events will be handled and executed with the same standards that The Chadwick has been known for the past 30 years, Sansale said. Additionally, the venue will take new event bookings throughout the balance of the 2024 calendar year.
Starting July 1 until Dec. 31, Common Plea Catering in Downtown Pittsburgh will handle all the events booked at the Chadwick, Common Plea Catering CEO Beau Barsotti said.
Barsotti said they are reaching out to those who have booked the venue for 2025 to assist in finding other locations that Common Plea Catering works with or will return the deposit to the client if a venue other than one the Common Plea Catering collaborates with is used.
“We will provide the food the clients have contracted for,” said Barsotti. “We understand this is stressful for these brides. We will do what we can to help them.”
Jim Shorkey Family Auto Group features 19 dealerships in three states and works with Kia, Mitsubishi, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, Nissan, Cadillac and Mazda. The Kia dealership is close to The Chadwick.
The Jim Shorkey Family Auto Group did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
