Upcoming Northern Tier Library programs include:

Nonfiction book discussion, “Brave, Not Perfect: Fear Less, Fail More, and Live Bolder” by Reshma Saujani, 1 p.m. Feb. 20.

Saujani shares insights and practices to help us let go of our need for perfection. By being brave, not perfect, we can all become the authors of our best and most joyful life.

Reading Rumble Kickoff, 6 p.m. Feb. 22.

Northern Tier and Northland libraries are teaming up for a trivia event: Reading Rumble. The kickoff is at 6 p.m. Feb. 22 at Northland Public Library, 300 Cumberland Road, McCandless.

A book list will be announced, and attendees can sign up for the event or seek help in finding a team. Registration is required at northlandpl.librarycalendar.com/event/reading-rumble-kick-1442.

Family story time, 11 a.m. Feb. 23 at the Pine Community Center.

Sing, move, read books and practice rhymes. This program is for children of all ages, and registration is required.

Discord game night: Karaoke, Feb. 24 at Northern Tier.

Teens ages 13 to 18 are welcome to join the library’s Discord server for game nights, starting at 7. Please fill out the form at tinyurl.com/discgaming to participate, and a librarian will email you an invitation link to join.

Coffee & Crime Book Club, 6 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Pine Community Center.

Are you a fan of cozy mysteries, police procedurals, or true crime? Join Northern Tier Library’s newest book club. Bring suggestions for your favorite mysteries or true crime stories to pitch for upcoming meetings. On Feb. 26 is a discussion of “Till Murder Do Us Part” by James Patterson.

Knit Lit, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 28. Knitters, crocheters and yarn art enthusiasts are welcome to attend at Northern Tier. If you’re working on a project, bring it with you. Registration is required.

Take-home crafts, Feb. 27. Kids of all ages are invited to enjoy a simple craft. Call 724-449-2665 or register online to reserve a supply kit that can be picked up on Tuesday and enjoyed at home.

The Weekly Project, Feb. 27, features a variety of activities like cooking, crafting, art and STEM. Each week will showcase a different project for children to work on with their families. Author Night, 7 p.m. March 5, featuring local author Eileen Enwright Hodgetts. She will share information from two of her novels about the Titanic, “The Girl on the Carpathia” and “The Girl in the Lifeboat.” Brought up in England and Wales, she has also lived and worked in South Africa and Uganda, and now makes her home in Pittsburgh. Her life experiences allow her to use exotic backgrounds for her novels and help her to understand how an adventure can begin with just one small incident.

The program will be about an hour long, followed by a question-and-answer session with refreshments. The author will have copies of her books for sale and available to sign. Please register in advance if you wish to attend.

Family story time and play time, 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays at Northern Tier.

The program is for toddlers, preschoolers and their families. Registration is required, and only one registration is necessary for a series of six story times.
