Preorder deadline is May 3 for the Northern Tier Regional Library’s plant and garden sale.

The sale is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 17 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 18. Choose from hundreds of annuals, herbs, hanging baskets and more, and have it all waiting for you at the library.

The library’s Richland Center will open at 1 p.m. May 3. It will be closed that morning for the installation of our new computers. The library will be closed May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.

The last day for service at the Pine-Richland High School Center for the school year will be May 23.

Library programs include:

• May the Fourth Be With You, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 4. Dress up in your favorite “Star Wars” gear and attend this galactic holiday event for all ages. Registration is required.

• PR Pokémon Club, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. May 6. Bring your cards or games and join other Pokémon trainers at the library to trade and play together. Boards will be available for the card game, and a Pokémon-related project is featured.

The event is self-directed and open to children, teens and their families. Registration is required.

• Maker Space take-home kit. The library offers kits featuring directions and materials to complete a craft from. Please call or register online to reserve a supply kit that can be picked up Mondays and enjoyed at home.

The project for May 6 is twine coasters. Use twine and cork to create a coaster. For May 20, the project is a disco mobile ball.

• Take-home crafts, Tuesdays, May 7-21. Kids of all ages are invited to enjoy a simple weekly take-home craft. Please call or register online to reserve a supply kit that can be picked up on Tuesdays and enjoyed at home.

• The Weekly Project, Tuesdays, May 7-21. Each week will showcase a different project on which children can work. Call or register online to reserve a supply kit that can be picked up on Tuesdays and enjoyed at home.

• Baby play time, 11 a.m. May 7, 14 and 21. Share songs, finger plays, stories and rhymes. Meet other parents and their babies, and enjoy some special time together.

The program is intended for babies through 18 months and will be held Tuesdays in the program room on the library’s main level. Siblings are welcome, and only one registration is required for the series of six play times.

• Spring cooking classes with Chef Carol, 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays. The theme for May 7 is Thai Party, featuring 10-minute creamy chicken noodle soup, Thai peanut chicken, sweet chili green beans, Asian cucumber salad and Mango Sago.

Classes are $45 each. Advance registration and payment is required.

• A Great Deal card and game group, 1 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday on the library’s lower level. Currently offered are pinochle on Tuesdays and American Mahjong on Wednesdays, but additional games may follow. Registration is requested.

• Bridget’s Book Club, 6:30 to 8 p.m. May 8. “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” by Taylor Jenkins Reid will be the topic of discussion.

Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one is more astounded than Monique, herself. Summoned to Evelyn’s luxurious apartment, Monique listens in fascination as the actress tells her story, from making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the ’80s and the husbands along the way.

• Conversation Group, 1 to 3 p.m. May 9, a place to share ideas and hear what others have to say. For additional information, email cdstorrs@gmail.com.

• Family story and play time, 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, May 1, 8, 15 and 22, and Thursdays, May 2, 9 , 14 and 23. Featured are songs and rhymes, books and lots of movement.

The program is for toddlers, preschoolers nd their families. Registration is required, and only one registration is necessary for the series of six story times.

• Dungeons & Dragons Discord Server, 7 p.m. May 1 and 3. Teens ages 13 to 18 can join the library’s discord server for monthly D&D adventures. Please fill out the form at tinyurl.com/discdungeon to participate, and a librarian will email an invitation link to join.

• Silent Book Club, 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 1 and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 6. There’s no assigned reading. All readers are welcome. Gather in the library’s new book area and settle in for an hour of silent, sustained reading. At the end of the hour, attendees are welcome to socialize (or not) by sharing what they brought. Registration is requested.
