Pedestrian killed by vehicle in Jefferson Hills

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Jefferson Hills on Wednesday evening, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.

Jessica Schroeder, 26, of West Elizabeth was on foot on Route 837 in front of the Shop N Go convenience store at 7:30 p.m. when she was hit. She was taken to AHN Jefferson Hospital, where she died.

The road was closed in both directions as police investigated, according to a social media post from Jefferson Hills police.

No information has been released by the agency related to the crash.
