A North Huntingdon man has been charged with driving under the influence and number traffic violations after crashing into a pole in Penn Hills.
Emergency responders were dispatched shortly before 1 a.m. Monday for a single vehicle crash along the 10000 block of Frankstown Road.
Police Chief Howard Burton said a man was driving fast in a 2014 Infiniti sedan when he lost control of his vehicle around a bend and crashed into a utility pole damaging it and the car. The vehicle flipped onto its roof and the driver was trapped inside.
EMS and firefighters were able to assist the driver out of the vehicle and transported him to a hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicle sustained significant damage based on photos posted by the municipality’s volunteer fire company.
The crash remains under investigation. The driver’s name has not been released.
