Friends of the Riverfront
Friends of the Riverfront is working with Verona, Oakmont, Plum and Penn Hills to develop a safe, accessible and sustainable multi-purpose trail stretching from the Allegheny Riverfront in Verona, through Oakmont and Penn Hills along Plum Creek, to Boyce Park in Plum.
The plan is being conducted by TransSystems. Initial traffic studies have been conducted, and a public meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at Steel City Rowing, 101 Arch St. in Verona. For more information, visit friendsoftheriverfront.org/VOPPTrail.
Penn Hills Library events
On Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m., Penn Hills Library will welcome Frederick Carlson for an Illustrator Talk on America and the Holocaust.
A knitting and fiber arts meetup will take place at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 25.
Preschool storytime is from 1-1:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
A Winter Sensory experience will occur from 1-3 p.m. Jan. 21. Children of all ages are welcome.

Dean’s list
Vincent Tassari of Verona, a graduate of Central Catholic High School, has been named to the dean’s list at Marietta College for the fall 2022 semester. Tassari is majoring in environmental engineering.
