Rotary Club of Penn Hills

Halloween bingo starts at 7 p.m. Oct. 21 (doors open at 5:45) at Universal Banquet Hall, 2240 Main St. Proceeds benefit the Penn Hills High School varsity cheerleaders.

A spaghetti dinner featuring homemade meatballs and sauce by Grazia Tomasino is set for Nov. 9 at Mt. Hope Church, 12106 Frankstown Road. Dine in or take-out.

Library events

Penn Hills Library will host a pumpkin painting for children and teens of all ages from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 21.

A Teen Halloween Party for grades six-12 will be held 5-8 p.m. Oct. 27. Costumes are encouraged.

3 Rivers Psychic Fair

3 Rivers Psychic Fair, now more than 55 vendors, will be held at the Comfort Inn, 699 Rodi Road in Penn Hills. T11 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 4. Workshops will be available ranging from manifesting, authenticity and telepathy. The fairs offer psychic, intuitive and medium readings, Reiki healers, energy healers and holistic and various products. The mission of the fair is to connect, heal and educate. Verona code enforcement officer

Joseph Luera has been hired as a part-time code enforcement officer in Verona, working at least 15 hours per week. Residents should review any blue door hangers as that will be their first warning of an issue.

Upcoming meetings

• The Churchill zoning hearing board meeting originally scheduled for Sept. 25 has been moved to 7 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Churchill Borough Building, 2300 William Penn Hwy.

• Penn Hills zoning hearing board will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Penn Hills Government Center.

• Penn Hills planning commission meets at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Penn Hills Government Center.

Meet the candidates

The Penn Hills Democratic Committee will host a Meet the Candidates social at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at Penn Hills Library, where residents can meet the Democratic Party endorsed candidates locally and on the county level, ahead of the Nov. 7 election.

Trunk or treats

• Penn Hills Masonic Lodge (Infinity Lodge No. 546) is partnering with Verona’s Masonic Lodge (Verona Lodge No. 548) to host a Trunk or Treat 5-7 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Penn Hills Masonic Center, 5793 Saltsburg Road, Verona. For more information, visit infinityfreemasons.com.

• Hebron Community Center’s Trunk or Treat will be from 3-5 p.m. Oct. 28 at the center at 10460 Frankstown Road in Penn Hills. Admission is free, but spaces need to be reserved to host or sponsor a trunk.

Pancake breakfast

The Board of Deacons at Beulah Presbyterian Church will be serving the 19th Annual Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 21. Hours are from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., with a menu of fruit, buttermilk or buckwheat pancakes and Parma sausage. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 4-11 (kids under 4 eat for free). Tickets will be sold Sundays in October and at the door, at 2500 McCrady Road, Churchill. Proceeds benefit the deacons’ ministry.
