Class of 1975 reunion

The Penn Hills High School Class of 1975 will celebrate its 45/46-year reunion from 6 to 11 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Green Oaks Country Club, 5741 Third St., Verona, PA 15147. The cost is $45 per person or $80 per couple. The reunion will feature hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and a DJ.

The Class of ’75 will also have a free picnic Sept. 26 at noon at the Penn Hills Park main pavilions. Attendees should bring their own food and beverages. Paper products will be supplied.

Class of 1971 reunion

Penn Hills High School Class of 1971 is holding its 50-year reunion Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. at the Zone 28 — Beer Park area, 2525 Freeport Road in Hamarville. Beer Park is a partially covered outdoor space with corn hole, bocce, fire pit seating and a pay-as-you-go bar and menu.

The reunion will feature Hawaiian or 1960s/’70s attire, and there will be a cash bar/menu. A $5-per-person cash donation is suggested at the door to cover reunion expenses. Masks are not currently required, but with the ever-changing state of the covid-19 pandemic, bring a mask in case the facility requires one to enter the indoor facility.

Fellowship

Holy Family Ladies of Charity of Holy Family Parish are collecting school supplies throughout August.

Items needed include pencils, erasers, glue sticks, highlighters, scissors, small pencil sharpeners, crayons, colored pencils, dry erase markers, notebooks, binders, supply boxes or pouches, earbuds and backpacks.

Supplies will benefit Penn Hills, Plum, Riverview and Holy Family schools.

Charity golf tourney

The Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania will host its annual charity golf tournament Aug. 30.

It will take place at Edgewood Country Club, 100 Churchill Road in Churchill.

The cost is $195 per golfer, or $65 for dinner only. The full price includes golfing, golf cart, beer, snacks, water and soda on the course, a golfer “goodie bag,” event T-shirt, lunch before the tournament, dinner after the tournament, door prizes, skill contests, raffle drawings and a hole-in-one contest.

Summer Movie Series

The Penn Hills Summer Movie Series will continue with “Spongebob: Sponge on the Run” starting at dusk at Turner-Friendship Park on Sept. 10.

The event is free to attend. Rolling Hills Church will provide free snacks.

Women’s Business Network

Women’s Business Network is an award-winning business association that supports the success and growth of women in business. WBN provides members with the tools to be successful.
