Rosedale Beach Club Fall Festival

The Rosedale Beach Club will be holding its annual Fal Festival Sept. 15-17 at its location on 5401 3rd St. from 6-10 p.m. There will be rides, games, food and performances.

The festival will open with a performance from the Penn Hills Big Red Band.

Verona Road work

Road work on Verona Road between Saltsburg Road and Second Avenue in Penn Hills is underway. The work includes milling and paving, base repairs, reconstruction of an intersection, drainage improvements, shoulder work, and guide rail replacement.

There will be short stoppages at work zones between Saltsburg Road and Second Avenue. They are expected to end in November. Flaggers will be used to control traffic.

There will be a full closure at the intersection of Verona Road and Second Avenue starting at 9 a.m. Sept. 19. The closure is expected to end in October. Traffic will be detoured using Wildwood Avenue, Allegheny River Boulevard, Plum Street, Hunter Road, Hamil Road, and Poketa Road.

The work will be done by A. Folino Construction, Inc., of Oakmont as part of the $7.3 million 2022 Capital Roads contract.

Penn Hills 50th reunion

Penn Hills High School’s Class of 1973 will celebrate its 50-year reunion from 5 to 11 p.m. Oct. 6, 2023, at Futules Harmar House in Harmarville. Saltsburg Road work

Saltsburg Road between Sycamore Drive and Route 380 will remain closed through late September to fix a slide, according to PennDOT.

Through traffic will be prohibited around the clock.

Traffic will be detoured using Route 380, Lime Hollow Road and Route 130, PennDOT said.

In addition to repairing a slide, crews also will reconstruct the road shoulder.

Golf outing to aid Toys for Pittsburgh Tikes

The Greater Pittsburgh Business Connection will host a Sept. 26 golf outing to benefit Toys for Pittsburgh Tikes.

It will take place at the Westmoreland Country Club, 7100 Mellon Road in Penn Township. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Tickets are $150 per person, with sponsorships, foursome and dinner-only tickets also available. Dinner will be at 4:15 p.m.
