A Penn Hills man with a history of drug convictions will spend 13 years in federal prison for running a heroin trafficking organization between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

Trevon Kendrick, 28, was sentenced Tuesday by U.S. District Judge William S. Stickman IV on one count of conspiracy to distribute at least 1 kilogram of heroin.

The U.S. Attorney’s office said the FBI started an investigation into Kendrick’s operation in 2018, and in February 2019, began a wiretap. In intercepted calls, investigators heard Kendrick directing the movement of heroin from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh through various people within his organization. According to court documents, investigators also installed pole cameras to capture surveillance of the operation.

Agents seized 257 bricks of suspected heroin from Kendrick. They also also sought the forfeiture of four guns, ammunition, nearly $55,000 in cash, a 2014 Chrysler 300 and a 2014 Maserati Ghibli, which the judge granted.

Kendrick was arrested in October 2019 in Arizona on a Greyhound bus after he was contacted by investigators to turn himself in. He pleaded guilty in June.
