Police charge teens in Penn Hills carjacking
Penn Hills police have charged three 15-year-old boys in the robbery and carjacking of a pizza delivery driver Wednesday night in township.
Police said the driver for Domino’s Pizza was bleeding from a cut above his eye when officers arrived shortly after 11:30 p.m. at Pennoak Manor Drive.
The driver told police he was approached by and assaulted by as many as eight young males when he got out of his car. The driver said one of the suspects pistol-whipped him in the head and then three of them took of in his car while the others ran from the scene, according to court documents.
Police said they spotted the stolen vehicle and initiated a short car chase that ended when the vehicle stopped at Lindberg Road and Milliken Drive and the three occupants fled on foot. The suspects, who were identified by the driver, were found by police in a parking lot along Frankstown Road, according to court documents.
The trio face a May 26 preliminary hearing.
