Welcome to Christmas concert

The annual Welcome to Christmas concert will be held at Deer Creek Presbyterian Church Dec. 17 at 3 p.m. The Tuesday Gospel Singers will be featured along with flute soloist Mary Ehmann and the Deer Creek choir and bells. There is no charge for the concert and refreshments will be served. The church is located at 33 Bairdford Road in Gibsonia.

AARP

AARP 595 meets the first Tuesday of each month. The next meeting will be Jan. 2. We welcome visitors and new members. Join us at Hampton Presbyterian Church, 2942 E. Hardies Road in Gibsonia, for great socialization, trips and entertainment. Entertainment for January will be Walt Merriman. For more information, call 412-486-7465.

Bakerstown UMC

A Blue Christmas Service will take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 20. It is a service of reflection, remembrance, healing and hope. Bakerstown United Methodist Church is located at 5760 William Flynn Hwy. in Gibsonia.

Rotary scholarship

The Bob Williams Rotary Memorial Scholarship Program announces the availability of scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year. In recent years, at least eight scholarships of $5,000 each have been awarded. High school seniors in Allegheny and Beaver counties are eligible to apply. Vocational students, GED students and those attending parochial, charter and private schools are also eligible.

Students must have a 2.5 or higher grade point average and also must complete an essay that highlights their community/school service as part of the application submission.
