School news: Pine-Richland students sign letters of intent, college graduation and more

Dean’s list
The following students from the area were recognized for their academic achievement during the fall 2020 semester by being named to the dean’s, president’s or provost’s list at the college or university they attend:
• Dickinson College: Ariana Goitz, Carolina Celedon
• Gettysburg College: Kayla Julio, Stefany Kaminski, Emily Roush
• University of Pittsburgh at Bradford: Joshua Palko
Published in online journal
Andrew Bokulich of Gibsonia, a pre-medicine student at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, was published in the university’s inaugural issue of Bradford Writes, an online journal of exemplary first-year student writing.
Bokulich published a research paper, “Is Newer Better? Primary Repair Surgery vs. Tommy John Surgery.” He was also named to the fall 2020 Dean’s List.
College graduation
Emily Bovan graduated from Point Park University in December with a degree in sports entertainment management. She was also on the Dean’s List for the fall 2020 semester.
National Letter of Intent Day
Pine-Richland School District hosted National Letter of Intent Day most recently Feb. 3-5 and also on Dec. 16 and Nov. 11 in the lobby of the Pine-Richland Stadium. Seniors who officially signed in 2020-2021 include:
Lacrosse: Haleigh Albrecht, Lafayette College
Baseball: Tommy Beam, West Virginia University; Kyle Kimoto, University of Pittsburgh-Bradford; Kyle Lenhart, Florida Institute of Technology; Gabe Mustovic, West Virginia Wesleyan College; Chase Vrabel, Wilkes University; and Joey Woodrow; Juniata College
Track & Field: Danielle Bryant, Duke University
Soccer: Megan Donnelly, Villanova University; Katherine Rishel, Case Western University
Field Hockey: Ella Rottinghaus, Boston University
Football: Harrison Hayes, Liberty University; Miguel Jackson, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; Eli Jochem, Indiana University; Charlie Mill, Elon University; Luke Miller, Kent State University; and Sam Neill, Duquesne University
A final signing day will be held in April.
