AG: Pimp, prostitute got 14-year-old girl involved in prostitution, drugs
A Pittsburgh woman and a Turtle Creek man are accused of getting a 14-year-old girl involved with prostitution, including encounters in the Alle-Kiski Valley, and giving her drugs and alcohol.
A criminal complaint filed by the state Attorney General’s Office identified Davon Allen Fuqua, 32, as a pimp and Shannon Lynn Shannon, 44, as a prostitute who believed she could make more money if the girl worked with her.
In addition to arranging encounters with johns, the complaint said Fuqua and Shannon engaged in sex acts with the girl themselves.
“The defendants terrorized this young girl. They forced her into prostitution and provided her with dangerous drugs,” Attorney General Josh Shapiro said in a statement. “This behavior is absolutely reprehensible.”
The alleged prostitution scheme came to an end when the girl suffered a seizure at the McDonald’s restaurant on Harmar’s Freeport Road in April 2018, after drug- and alcohol-fueled encounters with an unidentified john in the New Kensington area and at a Harmar motel, the complaint said. The drugs included cocaine and crack cocaine, according to the complaint.
Shannon and the john left the girl at the restaurant after paramedics and police arrived, the complaint said.
The complaint said Fuqua and Shannon asked the girl to get involved in prostitution two days before the seizure. When she agreed, the girl engaged in a sex act with Fuqua while Shannon recorded it before sending it to a man in Butler County, according to the complaint.
Shannon, Fuqua and the girl drove two hours to the Butler County man’s home, where the man — whom the girl described as looking like Santa Claus — paid Shannon and the girl in exchange for sex acts, the complaint said.
The Attorney General’s Office charged Fuqua and Shannon with human trafficking, statutory sexual assault, promoting prostitution and conspiracy. Shannon also faces a prostitution charge.
Authorities arrested Fuqua on Friday morning, and he was taken to Westmoreland County Prison after failing to post $150,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 27.
A warrant has been issued for Shannon’s arrest.
