Allegheny County reports under 200 new covid-19 cases for 4th straight day

Tuesday marked the fourth consecutive day the Allegheny County Health Department reported fewer than 200 new coronavirus cases.

In addition to the 139 new covid-19 cases, there were 8 new hospitalizations and 1 new death reported in the county.

The new cases come from 1,501 test results that span June 29 to July 20 and represent a 9.26% positivity rate for those tests. The ages of new cases range from 1 to 92 with the median age of 38.

The county’s newest coronavirus-related death, a 63-year-old person who died Sunday, brings the total to 209.

Entering the month of July, Allegheny County reported 2,760 total cases as of June 30. With 10 days remaining in the month, the case count is now at 6,574, with 6,380 confirmed and 194 probable cases.

An estimated 3,565 cases have recovered from covid-19 so far in Allegheny County, according to department figures.

Of the deaths in the county, the age range is 23 to 103 with a median age of 84.

Hospitalizations have increased to 520, past or present.

According to the latest health department data, 95,449 people have been tested for coronavirus for which department has received their test results.
