Brew Gentlemen celebrates anniversary with new outdoor space, warehouse

Brew Gentlemen brewery and taproom in Braddock is throwing a fifth anniversary party this weekend and you’re invited.

After all, there is plenty to celebrate, including the expansion of its production in a warehouse out back that’s being renovated.

The brewery has had a high demand for its beers for quite a while now. Later this year the warehouse will be completely renovated and will be producing and canning more of the beer it is known for at a much increased capacity. That includes hop forward beers and classic, traditional lager and porter styles, both American and European.

“Even though we’re just announcing it now, we’ve been trying to figure out for a long time now how to produce more beer in a way that is true to who we are and true to the quality of the product that people have come to know us for,” said Alaina Webber, Brew Gentlemen partner and General Manager. “So, our growth has been a little slower and people have been really patient with us. But we really have focused on trying to get the right equipment and not compromise quality and we’re finally in a position to do that now.”

On Friday Brew Gentlemen is inviting the community over for a pig roast in a new outdoor space that is adjacent to the brewery and taproom.

“The idea was to create an open, outdoor space for the community that functions as a beer garden, Friday, Saturday and Sunday but then being open to the community the other days of the week for programming and events and as a gathering space,” said Webber.

On Saturday Brew Gentlemen celebrates “A Beautiful Day in Braddock” with a special list of beers available from their cellar including bottles of DoubleMex, a barrel aged beer that they make only once a year, usually in the fall. The day also includes walking tours of Braddock.

“We’re going to walk around the neighborhood and talk about some of the history and art and reasons why we are proud of the town,” said Webber.

On Sunday, they will release their two anniversary beers including “Five” (for the 5th anniversary) and Mise en Rose, the first blended beer that they’ve done as part of their collection of “farmhouse beers.”
