North State Street in Clairton reopened Friday after a crash had closed the road between Mendelsohn and Blair avenues.

Allegheny County dispatch said the one-vehicle wreck sheared a utility pole and caused downed lines at about 3:30 p.m.

Clairton police are investigating.

There were no injuries reported.

The crash knocked out power to about 400 Duquesne Light customers at 7:30 p.m., said company spokeswoman Ashlee Yingling. At 10:30 p.m. the number of outages was reduced to about 280.

She said a repair crew was working and service could be returned as soon as possible.
