Line painting scheduled on several east suburb roads

PennDOT crews will paint lines on various roads in eastern suburban communities through July 6.
The painting is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day on the following roads:
• Route 286 in Monroeville and Plum;
• Routes 130, 30, 48 in various communities;
• Route 2073, also known as Allegheny River Boulevard, in Plum, Verona and Oakmont;
• Route 2054, also known as Northern Pike, in Monroeville;
• Route 2080, also known as Plum Street and Hunter Road, in Oakmont and Penn Hills;
• Route 2071, also known as Shannon Road, in Penn Hills;
• Route 2066, also known as Lott Road, Frankstown Road, Old Frankstown Road and Sagamore Hill, in Penn Hills and Plum;
• Route 2063, also known as Frey Road, in Penn Hills;
• Route 2064, also known as Lime Hollow Road, in Penn Hills;
• Route 380, also known as Frankstown Road and Saltsburg Road, in various communities.
PennDOT said painting will stop on July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
Motorists are advised to stay at least 250 feet behind line-painting equipment to avoid damage, and to be aware of changing traffic patterns.
“Passing too quickly can cause damage to fresh paint lines and may result in paint on the motorist’s vehicle,” said a PennDOT news release, adding it takes about two to three minutes for the paint to dry.
“Motorists who accidentally get paint on their vehicles should immediately wash the paint off with a high-pressure water stream and detergent. Dried paint can be removed with a de-natured alcohol and a soft cloth. Generally, PennDOT is not responsible for paint on vehicles,” PennDOT said.
