Medical examiner confirms body found at Fox Chapel home was Christian Moore-Rouse

The body found in a wooded lot in Fox Chapel on Tuesday belongs to Christian Moore-Rouse, a Medical Examiner report shows.

Moore-Rouse, 22, of Verona had been missing since December. His mother, Lee Reed, filed a missing person report with the Verona Police Department, who then reached out to Allegheny County police on Jan. 6.

He was last seen wearing a blue hooded jacket over a sweatshirt and dark-colored pants Dec. 21 at the Dollar Tree on Rodi Road in Penn Hills, police said.

Moore-Rouse’s remains were found unburied in a wooded lot near Adam Rosenberg’s house in Fox Chapel along Settlers Ridge Road.

Rosenberg, 21, is in jail and has been charged with homicide, robbery, tampering with evidence and firearms violations in connection with the Feb. 15 death of Jeremy Dentel, 28, of Baldwin. He was arrested Feb. 19.

Police have not said whether Moore-Rouse’s remains are connected to Rosenberg.

Thursday’s report from the Medical Examiner did not include details about the condition of Moore-Rouse’s remains when they were found.

However, the report said Allegheny County police began searching the area just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Moore-Rouse’s body was found at 11:04 a.m., which was cataloged as his “date of death.”

The actual time and date of Moore-Rouse’s death is still unclear. The report also did not include details surrounding how he died.

Allegheny County spokeswoman Amie Downs declined to offer additional details.

Police have said Moore-Rouse and Rosenberg were acquaintances, but the extent of their relationship is unclear.

Moore-Rouse graduated from Pittsburgh Allderdice High School in 2016, according to Ebony Pugh, district spokeswoman.

He enrolled in classes at Community College of Allegheny County in the fall of 2015 and stayed enrolled there through Spring 2018 semester, majoring in general studies, said Elizabeth Johnston, a CCAC spokeswoman.

“At one time he was an HVAC major, but at the time of his last attendance, he was in general studies. Usually, that’s used as a springboard to a 4-year school. But I can’t say that’s what he was doing,” Johnston said.

Rosenberg graduated from Fox Chapel Area High School in 2016.

Johnston said Rosenberg first enrolled at CCAC in fall of 2016. He did not graduate, having last taking credit courses in the summer of 2017 as a music major. Johnston did not know what Rosenberg’s major was when he first enrolled.
