Milling and paving of Pittsburgh city streets resumes Monday.

It’s part of a nearly $16 million street resurfacing program the city is investing in for 2020. The plan calls for curb ramp upgrades on paved streets, and repair of concrete, brick and block stone streets throughout the city.

In all, about 27 miles of streets are scheduled to be resurfaced this year, according to a news release.

With many residents staying indoors and sheltering in place, the city is making an extra effort to notify people to move their vehicles to make way for resurfacing.

Residents who have registered to receive telephone alerts from the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority will receive robocalls if their street is to be paved the following week or by calling 412-255-2423.

Paving crews will place fliers on vehicle windshields 48 hours in advance.
