The North Hills DUI Task Force arrested two people at a checkpoint in West Deer on Friday — one for allegedly driving while on drugs and another accused of disorderly conduct, according to authorities.

More than 500 vehicles passed through the stationary sobriety checkpoint set up along Route 910, police said.

Field sobriety tests were administered to three people who passed through the checkpoint.

Police issued one citation to a motorist for a vehicle code violation and 20 written warnings to drivers for various code violations.

The task force is staffed by officers from Shaler, McCandless, West View, Millvale, Ross, O’Hara, Indiana and the Northern Regional Police Department.
