PGH Vintage Mixer is this weekend at Nova Place

The 14th annual PGH Vintage Mixer is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Nova Place on the North Side.
The authentic vintage fair showcases local and regional sellers of fashion, home goods, décor, vintage vinyl, toys and games. It brings local collectors and small vintage businesses under one roof. It’s expanded this year to double the size of vendors, according to a news release.
“We been growing over the years,” said Michael Lutz, one of the founding members of the event, along with Bess Dunlevy and Jason Sumney. “We were looking for a bigger space and Nova Place is perfect.”

The event was filmed as part of WQED’s Rick Sebak’s “Nebby” Documentary Series. The program celebrates Pittsburgh history. Being showcased by Sebak helped create more interest in the event, Lutz said. Sebak is a former vendor at the event.
The mixer started on the North Side at the New Hazlett Theater, then moved to the Senator John Heinz History Center in the Strip District and then to Lawrenceville at the Teamsters Local 249 Hall and Spirit. Nova Place is a space that will allow for more vendors, Lutz said, including food and drinks. The event has attracted 2,000 attendees in the past.
He said the goal is to have merchandise at a wide range of price points. This year they will have more vinyl sellers, including Willie Weber, who owns “Whistlin’ Willie’s 78s.”
“The holidays are coming and people are looking for Christmas gifts,” Lutz said. “We offer some cool vintage items that would make great gifts for yourself or someone else.”
