A Pittsburgh man facing charges in connection with a police vehicle fire during the May 30 protests Downtown has been arrested.

Authorities said Devin Montgomery, 24, turned himself in to investigators Thursday.

He’s accused of setting fire to an unmarked police vehicle near the Fifth Avenue entrance to PPG Paints Arena.

Federal law enforcement charged him with malicious destruction of property using fire or explosives.

Authorities said Montgomery was one of the first people to approach the police car. He was wearing an Antonio Brown Steelers jersey, a black beanie, a dark bandana-type mask covering the lower portion of his face, blue jeans and dark shoes.

He was later identified after Pittsburgh police posted his photos on Facebook and put out other public requests for the suspect’s identification.

Montgomery’s also charged with riot, receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct, obstruction of highways or other public passages, scattering rubbish and two counts of burglary in connection with the May 30 protests.

Online court documents indicate he remains lodged in the Allegheny County Jail after his bail request was denied.

His preliminary hearing’s scheduled for Aug. 4 at Pittsburgh Municipal Court.
