A staff member who works out of Pittsburgh Public School’s Service Center has tested negative for covid-19, the district announced Tuesday.

The district closed the Service Center over the weekend for a deep cleaning, as a precaution. The building reopened Tuesday and families in the district were notified in a phone message.

The district had reported one possible covid-19 case with a staff member before, which also turned out to be negative.

In Tuesday’s message, the district also reminded families of Teacher Appreciation Week, encouraging them to thank faculty on social media with the hashtag, #PPSTeachersMatter.
