Police investigate Homestead drive-by shooting, boy shot in arm
A boy in Homestead was shot in the arm Saturday evening in Homestead, police say.
Allegheny County Police say he was possibly shot in the 1100 block of Sylvan Avenue. The original call summoned police to the 300 block of West 12th Avenue at about 5:10 p.m.
Allegheny County detectives determined that the boy was shot by someone driving past in what may have been a silver, two-door Mercedes-Benz with dark tinted windows that had been driving through the area.
Police are looking for a suspect described as a black male with dreadlocks who wore a black-and-gray shirt with white markings.
Police say a resident drove the boy to a hospital. His condition was not released.
