A Homestead man convicted of sexual assault of young children has been apprehended by Allegheny County Sheriff’s deputies, along with his girlfriend, police said.

Roger Coyne, 35, has been wanted since April 15, 2019, on a probation/parole violation as a result of two 2016 convictions involving the physical and sexual assault of young children.

Coyne was arrested at the Munhall apartment of his girlfriend Letitia Stark, 36, police said. Stark was taken into custody and charged with three counts of conduct relating to sex offenders as she is accused of harboring Coyne. Last month, a warrant was issued for Coyne’s arrest when police said he failed to appear for a scheduled hearing.

In 2016, Coyne was found guilty of indecent assault of a person under 13 years of age, endangering the welfare of children and corruptions of minors, as well as aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children, respective to each case.

As part of his sentencing, Coyne is identified as a Tier 3 offender, which requires him to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Both Coyne and Stark are being held at Allegheny County Jail. Coyne is being is being held without bond. Additionally, he is being charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

Stark is awaiting arraignment on her new charges.
