Shursave grocery store in Bloomfield to be replaced by Community Market

The Shursave IGA grocery store in Bloomfield will be replaced with a Community Market store, a realtor said.

ECHO Realty owns the Shursave grocery store property on Liberty Avenue. The company said this week that it plans to close the Shursave by the end of July.

The store will reopen as Community Market “as soon as possible after the store’s closing,” ECHO Realty said in a release. Giant Eagle has agreed to act as the interim operator of the store.

“ECHO Realty is aware of the value and need of a grocery store in the Bloomfield neighborhood,” they said.

Community Market will occupy the space as ECHO Realty’s “long-term site redevelopment plans are realized.” ECHO Realty officials said they plan to have dialogue with community leaders as they look towards their future plans for the property.

The group said they will focus on the “ever-evolving, necessity-based marketplace by prioritizing properties that are an integral part of everyday life.”

ECHO Realty, headquartered in Pittsburgh, said it is one of the nation’s largest privately held owners of grocery-anchored real estate.
