A stretch of Allegheny River Boulevard that was closed through most of the morning has reopened, according to PennDOT.

The busy roadway was shut down in both directions shortly before 6 a.m. between Washington Boulevard in the city’s East End and Nadine Road in Penn Hills when trees fell into nearby power lines, according to authorities.

Traffic was detoured until the debris was cleared and the road was reopened after 10:30 a.m.
