A woman was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in Pittsburgh’s Point Breeze neighborhood.

Authorities said city police responded to the area of Penn Avenue and Linden Street shortly after 8:30 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Officers found a woman in her late 50s had been crossing the street outside of the crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle traveling toward Fifth Avenue.

She was treated at the scene by medics and transported to UPMC Presbyterian hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
